Improving Your Home’s Climate with Drapery
August 3, 2020The NEW Carole Design Essentials
October 9, 2020The Spring 2020 Collection was an awesome launch for Carole Fabrics. Not only because we rebranded ourselves with a new and refreshing look, but because there were so many marvelous fabrics that we got to share with you all! 2020 is definitely a year of regaining normalcy and pressing forward. But before you jump too far ahead we wanted to recap some of those unique and exclusive patterns that were a must have in our Spring 2020 Collection.
In this Must Have blog we will cover 4 categories:
- Distinctive Designs: Patterns that truly are in a class of their own because of how different and unique they are
- Geometrics: The shapes and classic clean edge designs
- Vining and large scale florals: The beautiful floral design in many different forms
- Animal motifs: Striking prints and jacquards from our Jungle Safari book
1. Distinctive Designs
Most of the time we stick to what we know, never spicing things up. But sometimes it’s fun to get expressive! I know the pineapple and cactus fabrics have already gotten your attention, and trust me, they got ours too! We included these in the must‑haves because of how interesting these prints were. They remind us of the imaginative and visual time we live in. Including eye catching fabrics in your home such as Heron Umber below can scream “I’m going bold,” and will turn your home into an extraordinary masterpiece.
Not only did we include the fun but we included the unique. The gorgeous scroll fabric with a neutral ground and an off‑white applique, Shady Grove Birch, has a great hand and will drape beautifully.
Lastly, we introduced a cute small scale vining leaf, To Sit Still Sapphire. This must‑have is a corded embroidery that will add a graceful and elegant touch to any room setting.
2. Geometrics
Geometrics have such a defining essence and that may be why we love them so much. There are quite a few geometrics on this page that we couldn't let you overlook. For instance, Spark Between Patina has an almost sheer like look, very soft, and some of the threads have a bit of sheen to them. It is a cotton and polyester blend so you can imagine how great it would look on a soft shade.
And how could we talk about geometrics without talking about ogees? The large scale ogee below, Best Location Mineral, is one of our top‑selling prints. We love the washed out look it has with the varying florals adding so much detail. This look would be great for those who have tall windows so you could see the large pattern at its fullest potential.
Parting Class Rose Quartz is an exclusive embroidery that has a nice rose petal and orange color combination. This pattern also possesses some sheen to the threads. This linen/cotton blend has a classy tribal feel and if you look closely, it alternates designs every other vertical stripe.
3. Vining and Large Scale Florals
Larger scaled florals are another trend that seems to be making its way back. We introduced more than five different patterns of larger sized florals and they are stunning! As We Love Midnight is a super striking print that is 100% cotton. The shadows in the flowers make it look realistic and the jet black ground contributes to making this pattern stand out.
Vining florals and leaves will always be a classic and usually a go‑to pick for designers. Hidden Gems Ocean is a definite must‑have and is also a top‑seller. It has lots of negative space and is another pattern that would look great in larger windows. The detailing is impeccable and it comes in several different color ways.
Let’s also take a look at the striking all‑over neutral floral Unexpected Grace. What is so extraordinary about it is that the embroidery is hand guided. We love incorporating things with a hand crafted feel and look to them.
The vining leaf With A Wave Tuscan is also a treasure. It’s a cotton blend jacquard and would look stunning on a roller or soft shade. The different thing about this fabric is that the ground has a drier look with slubs but the leaf itself is shiny. This technique really helps bring out the tone‑on‑tone look and creates lots of dimension.
4. Animal Prints
We’re ending this note on the animal prints of course. Long before our time people have been incorporating animal motifs into their lives. Whether it was for clothing or pieces within the homes, the trend continues to come back. There is something so serene about nature and there’s no doubt about how eye‑catching these exotic beauties are.
With a growing demand in our industry, we introduced the Jungle Safari book. It has over 50 patterns of animal prints and jacquards. Of course we included those true to nature tones such as the prints Zebra Ebony and Jaguar Calico. But we also incorporated fun patterns like Cougar In Wait Multi, which is a floral with a cheetah print overlay and just so happens to be a top‑seller. Bayou Tiger Guava is another fun print that comes in multiple color ways like blues and greens, that were meant help fit any home’s decor.
