Accounting Supervisor
Purpose:
The Accounting Supervisor performs general accounting activities in accordance with requirements to ensure the undisturbed flow of information and reports necessary for completion of all phases of accounting department activities. This position provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, working with financial software, and bank accounts.

Qualifications:
Associates degree or equivalent experience required. Some college-level business classes including bookkeeping, beginning to intermediate accounting and information systems strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word are mandatory. Typing skills 30-40 WPM and 10 key calculator skills. 4-5 years of experience as an accounting clerk is desirable along with knowledge of general ledger. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, accounting, and data entry skills. This candidate will need strong written and verbal communication skills, will be interacting with staff and members of the management team, and is expected to maintain and support a harmonious and professional work environment at Carole Fabrics.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Accounting Supervisor:
  1. Assists and supports the Accounting Manager with financial accounting responsibilities as described herein.
  2. Monitor Accounts Receivable and Cash Application functions for financial close, reconciliation, and error identification/correction.
  3. Monitors daily credits processed by Credit and Customer Service departments and reconciles credits to system generated reports the following day.
  4. Monitors revenues via month-end verification/reconciliation of Accounts Receivable log transactions from e-payments, lock box and local deposits.
  5. Calculates ending Accounts Receivable and cash account balances daily.
  6. Responsible for reviewing Decorator's Outlet deposits and daily sales reports, as well as researching and assisting Decorator's Outlet staff in correcting any issues.
  7. File and tally all deposits for Decorator's Outlet and miscellaneous deposits for Carole Fabrics.
  8. Responsible for the analysis of all balance sheet accounts for Decorator's Outlet and Carole Fabrics' Accounts Receivable.
  9. Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information and making necessary adjustments to improve reporting accuracy and proficiency.
  10. Researches, tracks, and resolves accounting problems.
  11. Assists with monthly audits of Decorator's Outlet, supply cage, fabric return bin, etc.
  12. Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
  13. Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
  14. Work with Accounts Payable to correct any PO/invoice discrepancies.
  15. Maintains assorted files in conjunction with specific clerical and report preparation activities.
  16. Performs accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.
  17. Performs other duties on an ad hoc basis for the VP of Finance, Controller, and the Accounting Manager.
  18. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  19. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  20. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing other related tasks as needed.
Accountability:
Reports to the Accounting Manager with dotted lines to Credit Manager, and Financial Controller.
Customer Service Representative
Number of hires for this role: 2 to 4

Qualifications:

Purpose:
Provides customers with accurate and timely information relative to inquiries of a general nature, responds to specific customer problems by researching and resolving the problems maintaining a goal of satisfying the customer within established policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Takes and records all customer complaints, researches and resolves customer problems within established policies and procedures
  2. Maintains a daily log of all customer complaints taken to include the disposition of each complaint
  3. Provides customers with timely and accurate information relative to general inquiries
  4. Issues trackers to UPS and common carriers on lost or delayed shipments have not been received and shipment has been verified
  5. Insures UPS pick-up and merchandise return stickers to return merchandise for inspection when customer states that merchandise is defective and not acceptable
  6. Types and mails fire retardant certificates as required
  7. Maintains close working relationship with other departments in the company that interrelates with the order department in any manner in order to provide each customer with the best possible service
  8. Performs other duties as may be directed by the customer service manager

Carole Fabrics resides in Augusta, GA. Our national complex houses a state-of-the-art workroom, distribution centers and customer assistance facilities.

Must be able to use a tape measure for most positions, read work tickets, follow directions, the ability to stand for an 8 hour shift.

Sewing Team Member
Purpose:
Coordinate the initial operations involved in the fabrication of top treatments.

Qualifications:
  • High school graduate
  • Able to read tape measure
  • General knowledge of fabrics
  • Successfully pass color blind test
  • Sewing experience
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Sewing all top treatments:
  1. Receive fabric from Cutting
  2. Check measurements on work ticket
  3. Sew top treatment
  4. Iron/press top treatment

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to complete various activities that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying.
  • Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time.
Warehouse Team Member

Job Description:
A Warehouse Team Member may be tasked with any of a variety of duties that keep a warehouse running efficiently. Responsibilities often include the following:
  • Preparing orders by processing requests, pulling orders
  • Replenishes bolts of fabric in designated stock bins
  • Sorting and placing warehouse items, as directed by organizational standards
  • Maintaining inventory controls
  • Ensuring clean and safe working environment

Education Requirements:
There are no formal education requirements for a position as a Warehouse Team Member. Employers generally prefer a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous warehouse experience is sometimes required, although because warehouse operations can vary from one employer to another, on-the-job training is usually provided. It's important that the Warehouse Team Member have good communication, organizational and time management skills. As with any job, employers seek workers who are dependable and reliable.

Certain physical requirements are necessary for performance of a warehouse job. Workers regularly lift and move objects between 10 and 50 pounds. In some cases, workers are expected to lift heavier weight. Warehouse workers spend a lot of time on the move; they are frequently required to stand, walk, bend and kneel. Depending on the job, they may be expected to climb and balance.

For the safety of the workers and others, a Warehouse Team Member needs good vision and hearing.
